Cupping Therapy for Riverdale Soft Tissue Concerns

Cupping therapy gives patients another way to address soft tissue concerns during a chiropractic visit. Our team considers the reason for care, the body area involved, and your health history before discussing fit.

The key decision is safety and purpose. Cupping may suit some muscle-related concerns, but it isn't the right choice for every skin or health condition. We explain the plan in plain language, and you can ask questions before care starts.

  • Discuss medicines that affect bleeding or skin response before treatment.
  • Tell the team about rashes, wounds, or other skin conditions.
  • Share pregnancy status and relevant medical history during intake.
  • Ask how cupping fits with chiropractic adjustments or soft tissue therapy.

Edit: still first class treatment each visit! Love that my wellbeing is so important to y’all! Edit: Have been multiple times now and the service is as good as the first time! Great customer service. Great atmosphere. I was greeted immediately upon arrival. The young lady at the front (Catherine) was very professional. When I was taken back by was helped by another young lady, Courtney, and seen by Dr Keating took time to find out what was hurting and did an amazing job helping to fix it. I felt that everyone there treated it as more than “just a job” and treated the patients as more than just a number.

Questions Patients Ask About Cupping Therapy

Before getting started, what should I discuss before receiving cupping therapy on a standard service call?

Blood thinners should be discussed before receiving cupping therapy. Arrowhead Clinic Chiropractor McDonough also asks about skin conditions, pregnancy status, and medical history. Tell the team about current medicines and any recent injury. These details help us explain whether cupping fits your needs and whether another chiropractic service deserves priority.

How does the first cupping therapy discussion work?

The first discussion covers your symptoms, treatment goals, and health history. Our team asks about the body area involved and checks for skin concerns. We then explain suction cups and how soft tissue therapy may fit with chiropractic care. You can raise concerns before any treatment decision is made.

Which skin concerns should I mention before treatment for Cupping Therapy?

Skin conditions, wounds, rashes, and unusual skin sensitivity should be mentioned before cupping. These concerns may affect whether cups fit a treatment area. Share what you have noticed during the new patient intake. Our team will explain the safest care direction based on the information discussed.

When should I ask about cupping after an accident for Cupping Therapy?

Ask about cupping after an accident during your injury evaluation, before adding it to care. Our team needs the injury history and current symptoms first. Neck pain, back pain, or whiplash may need a broader chiropractic assessment. Cupping can then be discussed as one possible soft tissue option.

Why might cupping therapy not fit my care plan?

Cupping therapy may not fit when a skin or health concern makes suction unsuitable. Our team reviews your history and the treatment area before making that decision. We can explain other chiropractic options, such as soft tissue therapy or an adjusting approach, when they better match the concern being assessed.

How does cupping differ from a chiropractic adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment focuses on joint movement, while cupping uses suction on the skin and soft tissue. Both may be discussed during a personalized care plan, but they address different treatment steps. Our team explains the purpose of each method so you understand what is being considered and why.
