People with accident-related pain should discuss their symptoms with our chiropractic team before choosing massage alone.

Swedish Massage in Forest Park for focused muscle care

Swedish massage fits people who want hands-on care for everyday muscle tension. The work may include broad gliding strokes, kneading, and lighter pressure around areas that feel tight.

This page serves a more specific need than general chiropractic care. It helps you decide whether muscle-focused care fits leg fatigue, neck tension, shoulder tightness, or back stiffness. If pain followed a car accident, workers’ compensation injury, or slip and fall, our team can discuss chiropractic evaluation and related care.

Most people should describe their symptoms before treatment starts. We use that discussion to choose areas of focus and explain whether massage alone fits the concern.

  • Describe where the tension feels strongest.
  • Mention any accident-related injury or workers’ compensation concern.
  • Discuss pressure preferences before hands-on care begins.
  • Ask whether massage or a chiropractic evaluation better fits the symptoms.

Service Overview

Swedish massage is a hands-on service that uses flowing strokes and kneading to address soft-tissue tension.

  • Swedish massage differs from chiropractic adjustments because massage works on muscles and soft tissue, while adjustments address joint movement.
  • Our team provides this care for people in Forest Park through the McDonough clinic.
Process

How a Swedish massage visit moves forward

1

Discuss the areas that feel tight

You describe the location and feel of the tension. Our team also asks about accident-related symptoms and current chiropractic concerns.

2

Set the massage focus

The visit centers on the areas that match your concern, such as the neck, shoulders, back, or legs.

3

Adjust pressure during the work

Broad strokes and kneading are used with pressure that matches the area and your comfort.

4

Review the next care step

We explain what the session addressed and whether another discussion or chiropractic evaluation makes sense.

How we approach everyday muscle tension

The visit starts with your symptoms

Your description of tightness guides the areas we address first. We explain the pressure and focus before hands-on work begins.

Soft tissue stays at the center

Broad strokes and kneading target muscles and connective tissue. We do not present massage as a replacement for care that an accident injury may require.

Know when massage is not the right fit

Severe pain, new numbness, major weakness, or an accident-related injury needs a clinical discussion first. Our chiropractic team can help decide whether an evaluation should come before massage.

What focused muscle care can change

Swedish massage may help reduce the feeling of tight muscles after daily activity.

Broad strokes can support a more comfortable sense of movement in stiff areas.

A focused session gives you a chance to discuss muscle tension before it affects more of your day.

Massage can complement chiropractic care when soft-tissue tension is part of the concern.

Edit: still first class treatment each visit! Love that my wellbeing is so important to y’all! Edit: Have been multiple times now and the service is as good as the first time! Great customer service. Great atmosphere. I was greeted immediately upon arrival. The young lady at the front (Catherine) was very professional. When I was taken back by was helped by another young lady, Courtney, and seen by Dr Keating took time to find out what was hurting and did an amazing job helping to fix it. I felt that everyone there treated it as more than “just a job” and treated the patients as more than just a number.

Questions about Swedish massage and muscle tension

How does the first massage visit progress?

The first visit begins with a discussion of your symptoms and the areas you want addressed. The process then includes:

  • Choosing the main areas of focus.
  • Setting a comfortable pressure level.
  • Using gliding strokes and kneading.
  • Discussing the next care step.

Our team also asks about injuries that could change the care plan.

Which symptoms suggest massage may not be enough?

New numbness, marked weakness, severe pain, or accident-related symptoms suggest that massage alone may not fit. These signs need a clinical discussion before hands-on muscle work. Our chiropractic team can review the concern and explain whether an evaluation, chiropractic care, or massage belongs in the next step.

Why does pressure matter during a Swedish massage?

Pressure matters because different muscles and symptoms need different levels of contact. Lighter strokes may suit sensitive areas, while kneading can address a firm patch of muscle. Tell our team when pressure feels too strong or too light. Comfort and symptom response guide the work throughout the visit.

What changes the cost of this massage service for Swedish Massage?

The requested areas and the service discussion help determine the cost. A visit focused on one area may differ from care that addresses several areas or includes a chiropractic discussion. Free estimates are available before treatment. Our team can explain what the estimate covers after hearing about your needs.

Can massage address pain after a car accident?

Massage may support soft-tissue comfort after a car accident, but an injury evaluation may need to come first. Whiplash, back pain, and neck pain can involve more than muscle tightness. Our team provides chiropractic care for accident-related injuries and can discuss whether massage fits your recovery plan.
