About

What whiplash care covers after an accident

Whiplash care starts with the event that caused the symptoms. We ask about the impact, pain, stiffness, headaches, and changes in movement. The exam helps us understand the condition before we discuss care. We may consider the neck, upper back, shoulders, and related symptoms. X-rays may be considered when clinically indicated. Our practitioner position is simple: the injury history should guide the care plan. A generic neck routine may miss details about the accident, symptom pattern, or personal goals. We explain the report of findings and available options before treatment. Results vary, and individual response differs, so progress is reviewed as care continues.

Process

How we assess and treat whiplash symptoms

1

Share the accident and symptoms

We record what happened, when symptoms began, and how neck pain affects movement or daily tasks.

2

Complete the health history and exam

We examine the affected areas and review relevant health details before selecting the next care step.

3

Review the report of findings

We explain what the evaluation shows and discuss care options in plain language.

4

Begin the personalized care plan

We tailor care to the patient's condition, goals, and needs, then review progress as care continues.

What to prepare before your whiplash visit

Bring details that help us connect the accident with your current symptoms.

  • A short account of how the accident or impact happened.
  • The date your neck pain, stiffness, or headaches began.
  • A list of symptoms that affect movement, sleep, or daily tasks.
  • Relevant health history and current care information.
  • Accident or personal injury documents you already have.

After many, many visits due to a recent car accident, I can say this place feels like home. Kathryn at the front desk and the entire staff are always so welcoming and awesome! Dr. Keating is fantastic! She is knowledgable and explains everything to a Tee. She listens to your concerns and adjust accordingly, and does not pressure you into unnecessary adjustments. This will be the only place I go for adjustments in the future. Keep up the excellent job Arrowhead McDonough!
