Spinal decompression therapy for Lake City back pain

Spinal decompression therapy focuses on how traction affects the disc space and nearby structures. Our team uses a health history, exam, and report of findings to decide whether this approach fits your symptoms.

The treatment may suit people dealing with back pain, sciatica, or injury-related discomfort. It isn't the right answer for every condition, and individual response differs.

Your decision should rest on the cause of your symptoms, the findings from your exam, and the care plan we explain. We also treat whiplash, neck pain, workers' compensation injuries, and sports injuries when chiropractic care fits the case.

  • Discuss where your pain starts and how it affects movement.
  • Review your health history before choosing a treatment method.
  • Ask how traction and controlled stretching fit the recommended care plan.
  • Request an explanation of the next step before treatment begins.

Service Overview

Spinal decompression therapy is a chiropractic treatment that uses controlled traction to reduce pressure through gentle movement.

  • Unlike hands-on adjusting, the method uses a spinal decompression table and guided stretching to address selected back pain concerns.
  • Our team provides this care for patients in Lake City through the McDonough clinic.

How we approach spinal decompression decisions

Start with the disc space

The disc space is one part of the assessment, not the whole decision. We review symptoms, movement, and health history before recommending care.

Use measured traction

A spinal decompression table applies controlled stretching through a guided process. The treatment is explained before it begins.

Know when another path fits

Spinal decompression may be the wrong choice when the exam points to a different need. We explain the findings and discuss suitable chiropractic care options.

Process

How spinal decompression care moves from intake to treatment

1

Complete the new patient intake

We record your health history, symptoms, injury details, and main treatment concerns.

2

Review movement and symptoms

The examination considers back pain, leg symptoms, movement limits, and other findings that affect care.

3

Discuss the report of findings

We explain what the examination shows and answer questions about spinal decompression and other chiropractic options.

4

Apply controlled traction

When the plan includes spinal decompression, the table guides measured traction and controlled stretching.

5

Check progress and next steps

We discuss your response and explain the next part of the personalized treatment plan.

My experience at the McDonough, Georgia Arrowhead Clinic location has been AWESOME! The Ladies on Staff are welcoming, friendly and have been very attentive to me. After getting adjustments/treatment from them I leave there feeling less stiff and achy than when I got there. I would recommend everyone visit for an adjustment often. They'd be surprised at how it relieves pain and stiffness and helps the body relax and it calms the mind.

Questions about spinal decompression care

How does spinal decompression therapy work on the disc space?

Arrowhead Clinic Chiropractor McDonough uses controlled traction to guide movement through the disc space. A spinal decompression table supports the body while the treatment applies measured stretching. The exam comes first, because symptoms and health history affect the care decision. We explain the findings and plan before treatment begins.

What should I expect during the first evaluation?

The first evaluation includes a new patient intake, health history, and chiropractic examination. We discuss your symptoms, injury details, and movement limits. X-rays are considered if clinically indicated. After reviewing the findings, we provide a report of findings and explain whether spinal decompression belongs in your personalized treatment plan.

Which symptoms should I mention before traction?

Back pain, sciatica, neck pain, headaches, and changes after an accident should be discussed before traction. Your symptom pattern helps guide the examination and treatment choice. Tell us about pain that travels, numbness, weakness, or movement limits so we can address those details during the intake.

Why might spinal decompression be the wrong choice?

Spinal decompression may be the wrong choice when the examination points to another treatment need. The method is selected after we review your health history, symptoms, and movement. We explain the reason for the recommendation and discuss other chiropractic care options when controlled traction does not fit.

What part of care changes the estimate?

The recommended care plan changes the estimate because each plan follows the examination findings. The affected area, symptoms, treatment method, and related chiropractic services all matter. We provide free estimates and explain the services included, so you can understand the expected care before making a decision.

Can accident injury patients receive same-day treatment?

Yes, same-day treatment is available for auto accident injury victims. The initial visit still includes an intake and examination before treatment begins. Bring the details you have about the accident and your symptoms. We then discuss available chiropractic care and whether spinal decompression fits the findings.
