Spinal Decompression Therapy in Forest Park, Georgia for Careful Patient Screening

Spinal decompression therapy gives our team one option for people with back pain, sciatica, neck pain, or a herniated disc. The key decision is whether the treatment fits your health history, current symptoms, and exam findings.

The service page explains the method in general. This location page focuses on the safety question that matters before care starts, especially when symptoms suggest advanced nerve damage, pregnancy, severe osteoporosis, or a spinal fracture. We review the concern first and explain whether a different medical step is more suitable.

A new patient intake includes your health history and a clinical exam. X-rays may be considered when clinically indicated. Your report of findings then supports a personalized treatment plan, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

  • Share current symptoms, past injuries, and relevant health conditions during the new patient intake.
  • Ask how spinal decompression fits with any existing medical care.
  • Confirm what the exam found before agreeing to a treatment plan.
  • Discuss red-flag symptoms, including new weakness, severe numbness, or loss of control.

Why patients consider spinal decompression therapy with our team

Screening before table treatment

The health history and exam come first. Spinal decompression is the wrong job when findings point to a spinal fracture, severe osteoporosis, pregnancy-related concerns, or advanced nerve damage that needs another level of care.

A plan tied to your findings

The report of findings connects your symptoms to the care discussion. We explain whether spinal decompression, chiropractic adjustment, soft tissue therapy, or another next step fits the visit.

Plain answers before care begins

Clear treatment explanations help you understand the table, the goal of care, and the concerns that could change the plan. Our team keeps the discussion focused on your symptoms and questions.

Edit: still first class treatment each visit! Love that my wellbeing is so important to y’all! Edit: Have been multiple times now and the service is as good as the first time! Great customer service. Great atmosphere. I was greeted immediately upon arrival. The young lady at the front (Catherine) was very professional. When I was taken back by was helped by another young lady, Courtney, and seen by Dr Keating took time to find out what was hurting and did an amazing job helping to fix it. I felt that everyone there treated it as more than “just a job” and treated the patients as more than just a number.

Questions patients ask about spinal decompression therapy

When may spinal decompression therapy be inappropriate?

Advanced nerve damage may make spinal decompression therapy inappropriate. Pregnancy, severe osteoporosis, and a spinal fracture can also change the care decision. Our team reviews your health history and performs an exam before treatment. New weakness, severe numbness, or loss of control needs medical attention before elective spinal care.

Who provides this treatment for patients seeking care in Forest Park?

Arrowhead Clinic Chiropractor McDonough provides spinal decompression therapy for suitable patients seeking care in Forest Park. Our team reviews symptoms, health history, and exam findings first. The discussion can include back pain, sciatica, whiplash, and herniated disc concerns. Auto accident injury victims can also ask about a free consultation and same-day treatment.

What should I bring to the first evaluation?

Your symptom history and relevant medical information help us prepare for the first evaluation. Bring details about the injury, current symptoms, prior treatment, and any known conditions. Medical records or imaging can help when available, but an attorney or accident report is not required to discuss your care options.

How does the exam affect the treatment decision?

The clinical exam determines whether spinal decompression fits the reported symptoms and health history. We look at the affected area and discuss warning signs that could change the plan. X-rays may be considered when clinically indicated. The report of findings explains the recommended next step before table treatment begins.

Which symptoms should prompt a different medical step?

New weakness, severe numbness, loss of control, or signs of a spinal fracture should prompt medical attention. These symptoms can point to a problem that needs assessment beyond routine chiropractic care. Tell our team about any sudden change during intake, so we can explain the safest next step.

Why might table-based care differ from an adjustment?

Spinal decompression uses controlled traction on a spinal decompression table, while an adjustment uses a hands-on or table-assisted technique. The methods place different demands on the body. Our team discusses the method that matches the exam findings, and we do not treat the table choice as automatic.
